ACCOMMODATION
An exclusive villa nestled amidst the verdant hills of Getaria
Discover the epitome of luxury and heritage at Caserío Pikamendi. This meticulously restored 250-year-old Basque farmhouse offers discerning travelers an unparalleled experience of elegance, comfort, and cultural richness.
The Rooms
When we restored the caserío, we kept its original wooden and stone structure intact, preserving the essence of the farmhouses of this valley. Every room was designed individually, and every one tells a different story: here the original beams cross the ceiling, there a stone wall stands exactly as it was built. Eight rooms across three floors, welcoming up to fifteen guests.

Suite Pikamendi
The largest room under the old farmhouse roof, and the one that best tells its story. In the sitting room, the original stone wall stands exposed beside a wooden writing desk, with a television for quiet evenings in. The bedroom holds a king-size bed dressed in natural linen, and the windows look past the Ratón de Getaria, across the vineyards, to the open sea. The en-suite bathroom offers both a deep bathtub and a shower. A suite made for staying longer than you planned.

White Suite
Serene and full of light, the White Suite pairs the caserío’s centuries-old beams with walls the colour of morning mist. Its two single beds can be made up as one generous double or kept apart, suiting couples and friends equally well, and a small lounge with a sofa invites you to linger. From the windows, the view runs past the Ratón de Getaria and over the txakoli vineyards to the sea. The en-suite bathroom holds both bathtub and shower.

Golden Room
Warm tones and honeyed light give this room its name. A double bed rests beneath the original timber ceiling, dressed in carefully chosen linen, and the window looks over the pool below, so the room carries the calm blue of the water through the day. The en-suite bathroom offers both bathtub and shower, modern comfort within 18th-century bones.

Room Size
30 sqm
Dogs Room
The most colourful room in the house, named after the artwork of dogs that watch over it (“txakur” is Basque for dog). Two single beds sit beneath the old timber ceiling, and the windows open onto the pool garden, so summer afternoons arrive with the sound of water. The en-suite bathroom offers both bathtub and shower. A room with wit and character, in a house that takes its comfort seriously and itself lightly.

Room Size
30 sqm
Green Room
Our childhood bedroom: the three of us, brothers, slept here, and the room keeps that spirit of shelter. Its two single beds can be drawn closed like small canopied cabins, each with a reading light inside, so one guest can read late without waking the other. Beyond the window: the Ratón de Getaria, the mouse-shaped mountain that guards the harbour, the open sea, and the txakoli vineyards. The en-suite bathroom offers both bathtub and shower.

Room Size
25 sqm
Painted Beds Room
Reserved for one guest, who nonetheless gets to choose between two beds: nearer the door or nearer the window, as sleep preferences deserve to be honoured. A hand-painted headboard, a treasure of traditional craft, presides over the room, and the view reaches the Ratón de Getaria and the vineyards. The bathroom offers a bathtub with overhead shower, and a separate toilet room adds a final touch of comfort.

Room Size
60 sqm
Pool Suite
Its living room opens through tall windows onto the pool, a small terrace waits just outside, and a walk-in closet gives the suite the feel of a home rather than a room. The king-size bed is matched by not one but two en-suite shower bathrooms. Hubert de Givenchy stayed here on his visits to the Balenciaga Museum, drawn, we suspect, by the same seclusion our guests treasure today.

Room Size
25 sqm
Accessible Double Room
Beside the Pool Suite, this ground-level room offers step-free comfort without a single compromise on character. A double bed dressed in the same fine linen as every room in the house, windows onto the garden path, and an en-suite bathroom designed for full accessibility.
Social Settings
On the ground floor, guests can enjoy a spacious dining room and two separate living areas: one with a curated library, and another centered around a cozy fireplace —perfect for quiet moments or an afternoon tea. The veranda offers panoramic views of the Cantabrian Sea, while the indoor dining room provides an elegant space for shared meals.
Outdoors, guests will find a private swimming pool and fitness room, ideal for a refreshing swim or workout while immersed in natural beauty. To the northeast, a barbecue area sits next to a secondary lounge and TV room, offering a relaxed setting for al fresco dining and evening gatherings.
